    How to Make it Succeed?

will take place from July 29 to August 5.

The World Esperanto Youth Organization (TEJO) and its French affiliate, JEFO, invite you to Strasbourg, a city of many faces, including the seat of the new European Parliament. Situated on one of Europe's great rivers, the Rhine, also the border between France and Germany, it sits at the crossroads of Alsacian, French, German, and many other cultures.  There is no doubting its political significance, as atendees will see for themselves during a visit to Parliament.

Strasbourg is not only a symbol of modern Europe, it is also rich in history.  Not far from the Congress, UNESCO declared part of the city center a World Heritage Site. Here you can walk down beautiful old streets in neighborhoods closed to automobile traffic.

The Alsace region and Strasbourg in particular offer many reasons to visit. But for young Esperantists, they will be especially worth seeing during the week of July 29 to August 5, right after the UK in Zagreb.  There will be a street festival  showing off Esperanto artists from around the world.  With the theme of the Congress, "Multilingualism in Europe -- How to  Make it Succeed?", there will be a language festival to inform the general public about Esperanto and many other languages.  So this IJK will be more open than ever before.

The traditional attractions of the IJK will remain: rich day, evening, and night programs, interesting and instructive lectures, discussion and working groups, and of course all of the nighttime dancing and recreation.  There will be various sight-seeing excursions into France and Germany. You simply cannot be bored here!  A pleasant, modern youth hostel and the campground next door will ensure that the IJK in Strasbourg is an enjoyable and unforgettable experience for all.
